The exhibition is a result of a meeting of three artists: Frauke Dannert (Germany), David Leleu (France) and Michał Smandek (Poland), who were invited for artistic residency by the Cultural Institution Ars Cameralis in October 2016 as part of the international project Kulturatrium, including cooperation of the Weimar Triangle’ regions: the Silesian Voivodship, North Rhine-Westphalia and the Hauts-de-France Region.

The exhibition presents works of artists who face the problem of identity, reception of history and memory. It presents for the first time unique photographs of ⅩⅨ century Sosnowiec by Ignacy Krieger, photo cycle dedicated to descendants of Polish immigrants in coal basin of Nord-Pas-de-Calais (France) by Bogdan Konopka, photographs of the Poles in distant Brazil by João Urban and installation by Piotr LutyńskiAn important part of the exhibition consists of works by contemporary artists associated with Sosnowiec as Jacek Rykała, Ryszard Grzyb, Wojciech Prażmowski, Andrzej S. Kowalski, Miłosz Wnukowski, Piotr Kossakowski.

This photographic exhibition is an attempt to visually portray various systems of control and pressure. The process of formatting and shifting meanings and creating new ideologies are in line with innocent gestures as well as proven social engineering. Depending on the region, they vary in intensity, scale and methods, while all serve a specific utopian vision imposed by the structures of power.

The exhibition is an attempt to capture in art the phenomenon of sport. It explores the spectrum of issues connected with sport, such as: transhumanism, tribalism, exclusion, competition, sports education, the problem of fame or the transfer of sport rules into social relations. These are individual statements of artists who are conscious about the subject of sport that has existed in art since antiquity, but was often overlooked in contemporary discourse.
