Resina / Stefan Wesołowski

10 November 2017 | Silesian Library House of Education

Pure musical feast! Performances by Resina and Stefan Wesołowski will take place in auditorium of one of the buildings of Silesian Library in Katowice.

Stefan Wesołowski — he has been praised as a new musical idiom ever since his debut Kompleta (2008), a piece for two vocals, string quartet and electronics based on breviary texts and created for Dominicans. The musician is consistent in synthesizing electronics with classical music, polyphony with minimalism, repetition music with improvisation. Most of all, Wesołowski is a composer, violinist and music producer recording for exquisite labels, such as Important Records, Ici D’ailleurs and Mute Song. His music suits theater and cinema perfectly. He was involved in creating soundtrack for movie Listen To Me, Marlon — a documentary about the famous actor. As for now Wesołowski released three albums: Kompleta, Liebestod (2013) and Rite of The End (2017).

Resina  a musical project by Karolina Rec, who mastered the technique of combining a cello with uncomplicated electronic devices like a looper. Despite the hypnotic and oneiric character of her performances, each one has an internal dramatic vibe that focuses the listeners’ attention. The minimalist form is only apparent — Resina offers very intense experiences from the borderline of electronics, classical music and everything in between which may occur from such connections. Last year was a breakthrough for Resina — she signed contract with iconic British label FatCat Records and its sublabel 130701 as first Polish artist. In October 2016, they released together album Resina which was entirely recorded live in the studio.
